Ruwan is a Lebanese-Ethiopian writer and photographer based between Beirut and New York City.
With a keen eye for the unnoticed, her writing and digital photography practice focuses on slowing down the pace of her home city, Beirut, archiving fleeting, intimate moments between its people and their environment that might otherwise be lost.
Her writing and photography have been featured in ARTE Tracks East, Array Magazine, Dazed Middle East, The Public Source, L’Orient-Le Jour, the Institute of Palestine Studies, and more.
